Bernie Schultz and his Crescent Orchestra were from Davenport, Iowa and were active between 1923 and 1928. The band had a weekly show on W.O.C. radio named in honor of their sponsor the Crescent Cracker and Macaroni Company. The band played at engagements within a 200 mile radius of Davenport. Their records are a lot of fun. Stylistically, they are reminiscent of Waring's Pennsylvanians, but the instrumentation is much hotter.
