Grégor and his Boys was a subset of Grégor et Ses Grégoriens. Pianist Lucien Moraweck was obviously under the spell of Frankie Trumbauer and Bix Beiderbecke when he wrote Gregorology. Frankie Trumbauer's Orchestra had released a very influential record in 1927 called Trumbology that featured Trumbauer on saxophone with Beiderbecke playing cornet. That same year Bix released a solo piano record called In A Mist which was released in France and England under the title "Bixology". |
