Dave Caplan came to Europe in 1924 from Toronto with a group of Canadian musicians that became known as New Princes' Toronto Band when they reached London. In 1926 New Princes' Toronto Band was offered a job in Berlin but only a few members of the band wanted to go. Caplan and two other members of the band formed another group that was called Dave Caplan's Toronto Band and they played in Berlin as well as touring Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Roumania. They ended up back in London and hooked up with Hal Swain's New Princess Orchestra. |
