This record is among the first released in the style that would later be called Western Swing. This style has also been called "hot fiddling" or "hot string band" and it developed in Texas and Oklahoma the during the late 1920s and 1930s. The style combined Blues, Ragtime, Jazz and old-time fiddle music and was meant for dancing. |
