The Trio, The Three Deuces, refers to the Chicago speak-easy where a teenaged Joe Sullivan jammed with Bix and Eddie Condon. The address was 222 North State Street and became known locally as the "Three Deuces". The name was inspired by a well known mob-run brothel at 2222 South Wabash Avenue which was known as "The Four Deuces". About Face refers to Zutty Singleton's nickname, which was "Face". The story goes that Zutty was terrible at remembering names, but like most of us, would quickly recognize a familar face. Eventually he resorted to calling anybody he recognized "Face", and they simply reciprocated.
